Entry Requirements for Tanzania

If you are not a national from a visa-exempt country, you need a visa to enter Tanzania. Look up different types of visa for Tanzania to learn more about which visa is best suited to your travel plans.

Note: Obtaining a visa on arrival may be more complicated than applying for a visa prior to your journey. Hence, if possible, apply for a Tanzania visa beforehand to save complications or worrying about entry requirements for Tanzania. Tanzania is not labeled a Yellow Fever endemic country. However, if you plan to travel to Zanzibar, immigration officials may ask to see proof that you have been vaccinated (a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate). Travelers are advised to research the areas that they wish to travel in Tanzania and the possible vaccinations they need.
